Crunchyroll has also announced their intentions on simulcasting the anime adaptation of Meme Higashiya’s manga series Recorder to Randoseru (or Recorder and Backpack) in English. The anime will begin being simulcast on the 5th January at 9:30AM PST and then be released every Tuesday at the same time. Michelle Hwand, Crunchyroll senior brand manager had this to say on their recent announcement:
It’s exciting to see anime shorts make a comeback, as Takeshobo has a knack for creating these warm-hearted, amiable series. Following suit with MORITA-SAN WA MUKUCHI, RECORDER AND RANDSELL will undoubtedly support the turn of phrase: sometimes big things come in small packages!
The draw this series is which they are trying to put across to viewers is accurately described in the series description:
Miyagawa Atsushi is an 11-year-old boy. Since he is 180 centimeters tall and has a grown-up looking build, he has always been running into troubles. On the other hand, his 17-year-old elder sister Atsumi is only 137 centimeters tall and has a childish looking build. Atsumi takes good care of Atsushi, who acts his true age.
*Apparently Crunchyroll is going by the name of Recorder and Randsell, but Recorder to Randoseru is the official name Japanese name for the series (リコーダーとランドセル Rikōdā to Randoseru)
