clannad pt2 shortdecription 4 Check Out Siren Visuals January 2012 Offering

Just like what I did with my Madman Entertainment January 2012 preview I released last week, I would like to take a few moments to go through just what Siren Visual has on offer this month. Siren Visual is starting the year with a short but sweet set of two series, one which is a series collection and another which is a title I was surprised to see announced but looking forward to checking out anyway. Both of these releases will be available through the Siren Visual online store and retailers of anime beginning on the 19th January 2012.

Take one totally cute ninja-girl trainee; add a ninja horde under the tutelage of a perverse headmaster (a strange, yellow, spherical, pudgy…creature…named Onsokumaru) and you get the kind of super-explosive ninja insanity that can only be found in what’s been called the runaway nuclear reactor of anime comedies! The Ninja Nonsense DVD Collection includes the complete 12-episode anime adaption of Ryoichi Koga’s Ninin ga Shinobuden (2 x 2 = Shinobuden), plus bonus extras.

Clannad – Box Set
DVD | $79.95

“EVERYTHING SEEMED LIKE A DREAM…AND EVENTUALLY I FORGOT EVERYTHING”
Tomoya Okazaki is depressed at the prospect of school. His days are spent considering the path which lies ahead of him, the shadow of his vacant alcoholic father constantly looming over his daily void. He meets a group of strange girls at his school, each with unique social problems, and begins to gain perspective on the deep loneliness he feels. When the drama club is established, paranormal turmoil unfolds and hearts are broken… Clannad deals with the social dynamics of high school and the ennui it fosters, the bruises adolescence leaves on one’s psyche and the fear of being forgotten by your peers as time ticks by. Central themes are the importance of family, self esteem and identity amongst the apparent emotional emptiness of society. This box set collects the original Clannad series previously released as two parts by Siren Visual - SVE0771 and SVE0778.

Be sure to keep an eye out next month for their DVD release of Usagi Drop and Casshern Sins – The Complete Series on Blu-ray.
