Amy, a game that is being published by Lexis Numérique and been developed by VectorCell has just been announced to be distributed on both Playstation Network and the XBox Live Store beginning next week. This game, which has been previewed over the last couple of months is slated to be a horror game that given the low number of titles in the genre – both consoles could use. First of all, here is a quick blurb on the games plot:
The game takes place in December 2034 when the global warming has taken effect, spreading diseases and natural disasters around the world. The small town of Silver City (Midwest, USA) has been directly affected by a comet that has come crashing down. When Lana regains consciousness, everything around her is just mayhem. Violent outbursts, fury, rage, wreckage and death: the world she knew seems to have torn to Hell. As if struck by a mysterious virus, most of the ones she knew have now become part of a wild horde. Despite her wounds, she knows she must run as far as possible to escape this nightmare: the viral process has begun inside her but she refuses to become one of them. The presence of Amy, an enigmatic eight-year-old autistic girl with strange powers, who seems defenseless, will force her to make choices that will change both their lives. Infected humans, grisly creatures, Special Forces and even other survivors: they will have to trust and help each other to escape their pursuers in their attempt to survive.
The game has been announced for distribution in Europe beginning from the 11th January 2012 at a price of £7.99 or 800 MS Points. However, do not fret if you fall out of this region as you will not have to wait as Namco Bandai Partners will be distributing the game as well, however no pricing structure for their releases has been announced as of this post. I am personally going to be checking it out so look forward to the review hopefully next week!
While XSEED Games nailed the portable gaming market with their horror game Corpse Party, normal consoles haven’t had a good horror release for a fair while (In my opinion), so I am personally hoping this release turns out great.
