Something Awesome to Start the Day – Final Fantasy VII….. Unreal Engine Fan-made Remake

Unfortunately while it doesn’t seem like we will be seeing any official remake of Final Fantasy VII anytime soon on a current-gen console, it has not stopped people over the years producing fan-remakes (Primarily in video form) of parts of the game in a variety of shapes and forms. The latest fan-remake is by a group in Spain, who have decided to redesign the first part of the game at least using the Unreal Engine – meaning that you take first-person control of the character. Sure it isn’t perfect yet – some of the character models do look a tad clunky and judging from the video – there is no RPG system included as of yet (Although a battle does take place)…. how far this will go only time will tell.

You can download a demo of the game HERE. Hopefully projects like this will help give Square Enix that little prod needed to get a full-scale development of a remake going….. even if I am one of the people who would like say… Final Fantasy Versus XIII to be released without any further distractions.
