When Persona 3 FES, a sort of improved version of Persona 3 was released on the Playstation 2, among the major improvements such as a whole new chapter and some slight plot improvements, the ability for all the characters to have a few new battle costumes was also added to the mix – which from memory included butler and maid outfits, swimsuits and so forth… all of which you could force your characters to traverse Tartarus wearing. This feature was not included in Persona 4, however it seems that ATLUS is bringing back this minor feature according to new screenshots, with screenshots of Yukiko Amagi (A character I believe most gamers would include in their main party) in battle wearing an adorable maid outfit. Hopefully this system is not as restricting as Persona 3 FES or Persona 3 Portable, as they were bound as equipment so using a maid outfit was only justifiable for only a short period of time ingame until better equipment came along.
Also in the below screenshot batch are some screenshots of a new beach event and some dialogue between the Protagonist, Yosuke and new “The Golden” exclusive character Marie… whose purpose in the game has yet to be revealed.
