3DScolours Nintendo 3DS Console Sells 200,000 Units in Australia

Big news has come out of Nintendo Australia today. Confirmed by The NPD Group Australia, the latest Nintendo DS console titled, Nintendo 3DS has now sold more than 200,000 units throughout Australia, making it (according to Nintendo) the fastest console to sell through 200,000 units in only 37 weeks… apparently beating both portable and handheld consoles to the record alike. In complementary news, on December 16th, they will be granting access to the following Gameboy Advance titles for free to those who are part of the Ambassador Program (Those who purchased a console before the price drop):

  • F-Zero: Maximum Velocity
  • Yoshi’s Island: Super Mario Advance 3
  • The Legend of Zelda: The Minish Cap
  • Fire Emblem: The Sacred Stones
  • Kirby & The Amazing Mirror
  • Mario Kart Super Circuit
  • Mario vs Donkey Kong
  • Metroid Fusion
  • Wario Land 4
  • WarioWare Inc: Mega Microgame$

Now the question is… with the evident boom for portable gaming consoles, will it be able to face off against its adversary, the Playstation Vita this February and retain this record? Only time will tell…
