Keeping With the Japanese Visual Novel Theme…. Little Busters on the Playstation Vita Receives Release Date

lb 300x225 Keeping With the Japanese Visual Novel Theme.... Little Busters on the Playstation Vita Receives Release DateI reported before that like the Playstation 2, PC and Playstation Portable, the Playstation Vita will be receiving a release of KEY’s visual novel hit Little Busters, thanks to the folks at Prototype. The release date for the title has recently been mentioned, with it slated for release on the 23rd February 2011. Originally released in 2007 and soon after upgraded into Little Busters Ecstasy and then into Little Busters EX: Converted Edition (This games version), it like many other KEY works (Eg. Kanon, Clannad etc) has recieved considerable success on other consoles and generally every form of media except an anime series.

For the first time, the game will receive an increased resolution size of 960×544, up from the 800×600 of other releases. The game will also allow you to use backgrounds as your consoles wallpaper, touch screen interface for mini-games and the first appearance of minor (originally text/voice only) character Aa-chan.

In the short term, I doubt we will be seeing this outside of Japan despite the recent movement to make more visual novel titles available on the PC and consoles alike. That and no KEY visual novel has ever made it out of Japan for a number of supposed reasons – however most of the anime titles  based off the novels have been released internationally and have seen success.
