A short while ago, Famitsu.com requested its readers take part in a survey which they had to name games that made them cry. Famitsu have not released the results and they are quite surprising:

I will openly admit I have cried while playing several games, and to double up on that I have buried my head in tissues several times while watching anime. In comparison to my personal list of “Series that have made me cry” and the Famitsu list, there are a couple of similarities, but a majority are either different or I haven’t played the game at all (I have only played about half the games on that list as well, with only FFX from the top three mind you). Either way, it is interesting to see the diversity of games that can tug at the emotional strings of different people. Personally the top of the list for me would perhaps be Fragile Dreams for their overly cliche but oh so emotional death scenes. Eternal Sonata as well was another one that managed to tug at my emotions.
