While .hack//Link was slated to be the last game in the .hack series, it turns out that they will be doing another one. According to the most recent issue of Famitsu, development for this game by CyberConnect 2 has been ongoing since the development of the upcoming film which is slated to take place several years after .hack//Link in terms of chronological ordering. An example of the magazine shown above (Sourced from AnimeNewsNetwork) shows apparently actual footage from the game, indicating .hack//G.U protagonist Haseo (or his 2025 counterpart) will have something to do with the game, but little information has been revealed in terms of platform, plot, release date or much of anything really. What we do know however is that the game will be more photorealistic than previous installments and that graphics will be rendered in real-time over pre-rendered cutscenes.
