Persona 4: The Ultimate In Mayonaka Arena is an upcoming fighting game from ATLUS and Arc System Works. Due for arcade release initially, and soon after console release on the Playstation 3 and Xbox36o in 2012, this game pits all your favourite Persona 4 characters, as well as some others against each other in a battle of the Mayonaka Television or the TV World.
While all the playable characters in Persona 4 were announced to be playable, Aigis from Persona 3 was also announced to appear in the game, meaning that there were bound to be a few cross-overs. ATLUS have recently announced that two more Persona 3 characters will be joining the battle roster with their individual Personas and attacks. These two are Mitsuru Kirijo and Akihiko Sanada.
Personally I was never a big user of Akihiko, only using him in lieu of Junpei until Ken joined the team a few months after. On the other hand, I think Mitsuru is one of the better designed and thought out characters of the game so I am very pleased to see she is on the roster. How these two and Aigis actually join the ranks considering they had nothing to do with the events of Persona 4 has yet to be mentioned, but I assume we will see once the game is released!
There is currently no intended release announced for regions outside of Japan, however given how popular the Shin Megami Tensei series is internationally, and how well the game seems to have sold over here – I have a funny feeling we will be hearing more about this soon rather than later.
