Take Your Family to Disneyland for Christmas in the Comfort of your Own Home!

immersive web Take Your Family to Disneyland for Christmas in the Comfort of your Own Home!Known as the happiest place on earth to some children, for others it could be perceived as a rather costly holiday for a family and with the popularity, the theme park could also be conceived as the Land of Long Queues (I personally can’t stand waiting around for hours to go on a ride). However with Kinect: Disneyland Adventures you will get the next best thing to going there. Kinect: Disneyland Adventures is a collaboration between Microsoft and Disney which went on sale today and allows children and families to explore the virtual recreation of the park and take part in adventures with all their favourite Disney characters without the need for a controller.

Kimberley Francis, Head of XBox Marketing for Microsoft Australia had this to say:

On the eve of Kinect’s first birthday in Australia, our research reveals gaming is going to become more and more part of Christmas Day entertainment for most Australian families. With this in mind, “Kinect: Disneyland Adventures” is the perfect gift this Christmas, allowing families to explore Disneyland® park and fly through Peter Pan’s Neverland without the need of a controller. Controller free gaming with Kinect and Xbox allows people to immerse themselves in a Disneyland experience, high-fiving Mickey Mouse on the Grande Parade or hugging Snow White. There are more than 40 characters in the game for people to interact with in a very real way.

On another interesting note from the same press release… Microsoft recently polled 1,011 people across Australia and found that 37% of them were likely to be playing a video game on Christmas Day, with NSW gamers at 41% and Queenslanders with only 29%. As well, 30% of Aussies also stated that a video games console was on their Christmas wish list this year. (Don’t really know why this was on the same press release)

Back to the topic at hand, Kinect: Disneyland Adventures is rated PG and is now available from most game retail stores for a recommended retail price of $69.95.
