After all eight arcs have now been released on the PC, Alchemist are now prepared to release the Playstation 3 version of Umineko no Naku Koro ni Chiru, titled Nocturne of Truth and Illusions in the middle of December. While the original PC releases were more along the lines of a sound novel, with text overlapping over what could be considered sub-par graphics (Although still effective), the Playstation 3 version retains the awesome music set, but also contains enhanced graphic quality, voice acting and a more visual novel-esque text display.

The Umineko series is all about murder mysteries, where you are presented with a group of 18 people trapped on an island by a storm, and in groups they are killed off in a ritualistic fashion. You have to determine what one of the 18 is the murder, or as a 19th option, decide everything comes down to magic caused by the Endless Witch Beatrice. While the first four arcs were more based around murders and setting up the mysteries, Chiru is a bit different in which it has a stronger focus on the magic world while slowly delivering hints about the characters pasts and the mystery at hand.

The following screenshots are for the final two arcs, Episode 7: Requiem of the Golden Witch, which focuses on a world where Battler does not attend Rokkenjima but instead a new Ushiromiya family member, Lion is present and is the heir of the family.  The story also introduces Willard H. Wright who has been asked to attend the game by Bernkastel and unveils new truths about the mysterious family member and Beatrice. Episode 8: Twilight of the Golden Witch is what you could consider the concluding arc which I suppose you will be more interested in finding out for yourself what it is about….

Below are screenshots for both games, which I hope you enjoy viewing:
