Nippon Ichi Software America to Release Second Season of Arakawa Under the Bridge

Note: Just want to let you know that the trailer might not have any sound at the moment, unfortunately it seems that Youtube believes the official upload by  Nippon Ichi Software America has not been authorized by King Records.

arakawa2 big Nippon Ichi Software America to Release Second Season of Arakawa Under the BridgeA few months back I reviewed the first volume of Arakawa Under the Bridge, and gave it an A- citing that it was an enjoyable series that offered comedy in lieu of storyline, but worked very well. Today, Nippon Ichi Software America announced that they had acquired the license for the series second season “Arakawa Under the Bridge x Bridge“. Featuring even more zany characters and quirky storylines, the entire 13-episode second season will be packed into one 2 DVD/Blu-ray collection along with their obligatory slipcase and hardcover artbook.

Just when you thought things couldn’t get any weirder by the banks of the mighty Arakawa, they go ahead and get weirder by a whole lot. Rec, Nino, and the rest of the riverside residents return, and with the addition of another batch of nutty citizens the insanity gets turns up to eleven…thousand. Now Rec has to deal with a sci-fi loving comic nerd who’s convinced he’s a captain in the Earth Defense Force, and the less said about the Amazon woman living upstream with her demonic “female” Amazon followers, the better. On top of that, Rec struggles with the pressing issues of romantic expression, media obsession, weight loss, weight gain, beach parties, haunted houses, interplanetary travel, and the ever-present threat of global thermonuclear war!

The series can now be pre-ordered at a number of online stores including the NISA Online Store and Rightstuf. It is officially due for release on the 7th February 2012.
