While the 2012 Olympic Games are still a fair few months off yet, SEGA is going to let you experience the events as well as some others right from the comfort of your own living room with Sonic and Mario characters joining in as competitors. Of course, you and your family are not going to be left to just sit and watch – instead you will have to re-enact the sports all in the name of the glorious Gold Medal and bragging privileges and the dinner-table.

This game will consist of over 30 events from three different categories:

11 New Olympic Events: Discus, Uneven Bars, Ribbon, Synchronised Swimming, Pistol Shooting, Canoeing, Equestrian, Cycling, Football, Badminton and Beach Volleyball.

10 New “Dream” Events: Trampoline, Uneven Bars, Hurdles, Long Jump, Fencing, Soccer, Discus Throw, Synchronized Swimming, Equestrian and Football (Special Events).

and 10 of the Originals: 100m Sprint, 110m hurdles, 4x 100m relay, hammer throw, javelin throw, 100m freestyle, trampoline, fencing epee, shooting and long jump.

The game is due for release tomorrow on the Nintendo Wii, and will allow you and up to three friends to take part in the events. The Australian SRP is $79.95 while the New Zealand SRP is $89.95.
