I will be honest, while I am not specifically talking about the SoulCalibur game series, there have been games that I have bought solely on the custom character creation system – as implementing myself or fragments of my imagination into a game really adds to the gameplay in my book. SoulCalibur V, due for release early 2012 has been revealed to have a more complex custom character system, and a really fun trailer to show it off!
Your average (??) 20 year old university student who studies by day and plays games, watches anime (and so-forth) every other moment of the day. Has been writing for The Otaku's Study for over five years (as the one and only writer) and enjoys writing about a wide variety of media products.

I hope they put back the possibility to choose a randomly generated character in the character selection screen (I think it was present in the 3rd game but not the 4th): I played a lot of games with friends that way, and the resulting characters were almost always beyond ridiculous.
