Outline of Puella Magi Madoka Magica’s English Distribution

madoka Outline of Puella Magi Madoka Magicas English Distribution

While us in Australia have to wait until either Madman Entertainment or Siren Visual picks up the license for this series – Aniplex of America have just released details on how they intend to distribute Puella Magi Madoka Magica, or Madoka Magica for short.

At their panel during the New York Comic Con, they first off announced that pre-orders are now able to made on this series – but you still have the issue of what version to pre-order. The series will be split up into three volumes consisting of four episodes each. Alongside that, each of the three volumes will have three versions, a limited edition set (Both Blu-ray and DVD), regular edition Blu-ray and regular edition DVD. The limited edition will also include a soundtrack CD composed by Yuki Kajiura.

The press release describes the following content being available in the Limited Edition, however I assume most on-disc content will be the same regardless of version you purchase:

Blu-ray / DVD:

  • Includes Episodes 1-4 (TRT: 100 minutes)
  • Video: 1080 HD for BD, widescreen
  • Audio: Japanese and English (Linear PCM Stereo) for BD / Japanese and English (Dolby Digital 2.0) for DVD.
  • Subtitles: English
  • “Magia” Music Video featuring Kalafina
  • Trailer Collection
  • Textless Opening and Ending
  • Soundtrack CD #1: Composed by Yuki Kajiura
Exclusive Bonus Inserts
  • Exclusive Collector’s Box
  • 2 cases with double-sided covers
  • Deluxe 24-page booklet: Character designs, special short manga by aokiume and more!
  • Double-sided poster
  • Kyubey Sticket
  • Collectible Postcards
Volume 1 will be released on the 14th February 2012 followed by Volume 2 on the 10th April 2012 and the third volume on the 12th June 2012. On a more personal note, fingers crossed this gets picked up by an Australian anime distributor soon.
