Never had the chance to play the post-apocalptic wasteland online game Fallen Earth and would now like to check it out? GamersFirst, a North American Free2Play online game publisher with other games such as Sword 2 under the belt have just transitioned the game from its original paid structure before they acquired the license to Free to Play, allowing all gamers to check the game out without needing to worry about level caps or content limits – it will be about you, the game and the community. For those who are unfamiliar with the game, the following is a brief blurb as taken from the Press Release:

Fallen Earth is a Free2Play post-apocalyptic MMO set near the Grand Canyon in 2156. A hybrid third-person shooter and role-playing game, Fallen Earth features real-time twitch-based combat, six factions, a classless advancement system and a powerful crafting system in which players can make 95 percent of in-game items. With more than 1000 square kilometers of territory to explore, Fallen Earth players can experience an unparalleled game world while completing more than 5,500 game missions, including the ability to capture towns and territory. The game features a four-tiered membership system that caters to players of all levels of engagement. With the launch of the Alpha County expansion, clones of the wasteland can now reach level 55 as they battle the game world and each other to limited and strained resources. Fallen Earth is rated M-Mature.

Joseph Willmon, Associate game director for GamersFirst had this to say on the transition:

“It’s always a gamble when a company takes an existing MMO from subscription to Free2Play, but the Fallen Earth community and its veteran players have been overwhelmingly supportive. We wanted to find a way to extend a thank you to subscribers for their continued support and feedback.”

Players with previously active subscriptions will be convered to the top-tier Premium subscription (More on them later), as well as qualify for a set of veteran reward packages including monthly gifts, wardrobe slots and pernament discounts on the Commander Premium Subscription. There will however be a cash shop element to the game, allowing you to pick up several minor bonuses and more importantly, one of three premium subscriptions which are as follows:

Active and returning players will also be in for a treat when they recieve a brand new Spiked Chopper (Pictured at the top of this article), a motorcycle which will no doubt help you travel from one side of the 1,000 square kilometers to the other. The game will also be implementing World Events, random quests which pop up allowing you to earn rewards and giving the feeling you are doing something for the community, NPC’s and the entire wasteland.
