If you are attending the 15th Japanese Film Festival held on the 26th November in Sydney and 4th December in Melbourne, then Madman Entertainment sure have a treat for you. At 3:50pm in Sydney and 2pm in Melbourne, they will be doing a showing of Arrietty – the Studio Ghibli movie slated for theatrical release in 2012. The English dub will not be previewed, but instead will come with the Japanese dub and English subtitles. The following is the synopsis of the series:

14-year-old Arrietty and the rest of the Clock family live in peaceful anonymity as they make their home from items “borrowed” from humans. However, life changes for the Clocks when a human boy discovers Arrietty. Inspired by the children’s novel series “The Borrowers”, this is the latest creation from Studio Ghibli, co-produced by master animator Miyazaki Hayao (LaputaSpirited Away).
