We Have Two Thumbs! So why can’t the 3DS have two Analog sticks?

twothumbs 225x300 We Have Two Thumbs! So why cant the 3DS have two Analog sticks? The image to your left has been making it around gaming websites the last few hours as it is one of the first examples of a working peripheral attachment since the good ol’ days when the Nintendo DS had the GBA slot on them and were utilized for games such as Guitar Hero to add accessories.

Now in the year 2011, after many years of losing that attachment slot, Nintendo have finally announced their intentions to release this extension to give players not only an extra analog stick but also an R2 button. The reason for this release? With Monster Hunter 3G due out at a later date, it seemed to be turning out impractical to perform all the functions in the game – so they release this accessory to compensate.

Currently the only game set to use this accessory is Monster Hunter 3G, however it is more likely that it will be implemented into other future titles, giving the 3DS some much needed extra functionality in game genres such as shooting – where lack of buttons can be a major factor in making a game a winning game or a fail game.
