The Opening of Studio Yakuza – More Yakuza Games to Come!

227861 The Opening of Studio Yakuza More Yakuza Games to Come!

The Yakuza (Ryu ga Gotoku) series has been around since 2005, with the original Japanese PS2 game, and has since then resulted in 2 PS2 games, 2 PS3 games, a PS3 spin-off based around a Japanese era, a PSP game and more recently, another PS3 spin-off game that had Kiryu and three other characters from the series battling zombies whilst still finding time to enjoy a host club and sing Karaoke.

It seems like the game series will not end with the zombie beat-em-up game, but instead will continue into future games with the opening of Studio Ryu ga Gotoku (Studio Yakuza), which was recently announced to be headed by Toshihiro Nagoshi. Whilst this studio will not be just for the Yakuza games, with their first title actually being Binary Domain which is in development now – they have also announced their intentions for two more games – Yakuza: Black Panther 2 for the PSP and Yakuza 5 for the PS3.

I look forward to seeing what they as a Studio manage to do with the game series to continue to keep the gameplay fresh, considering how long the games have been coming out for.
