The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword – A Set of Trailers

In yet another period of time in the Zelda Universe, or given the way things have been in recent games – a parallel universe, yet another Link has been set with the task of saving yet another Zelda. As you can tell by the trailer above, there is something a little bit different then your normal Zelda game…. Link and Zelda have a bit more of a stronger relationship then just being forced to rescue the girl. Sure I do not particularly enjoy heavily romantic elements in a game, but it might make a nice change.

The second trailer outlines the Sword Tutorial within the game, showing off the new control system for the Wiimote which makes heavy use of the MotionPlus features. It is a good “gimmick” that is sure to appeal to fans, but how that will improve or impact gameplay will have to be determined, and may become tedious after a while for those who like me, just want the sword to swing without having to fight a temperamental controller.

The final video included is what supposedly is the games opening sequence, which in terms of what they could have used, is pretty disappointing considering they have included in-game footage to it. But the music is definitely Zelda-esque.

The design of this game is certainly different from your ordinary Zelda game, and taken a more light-hearted tone to it, similar to that of The Legend of Zelda: Wind Waker. I personally prefer my games a bit darker similar to that of Twilight Princess, but the design is in no way bad… just might not be to everyones tastes.

Okay, this has absolutely nothing to do with Skyward Sword, but this advertisement for The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time 3D has been running frequently on Australian television as of late, and you have to admit it is pretty good.
