Persona 2: Innocent Sin – The Method of Gaining a Demon/Persona’s Allegiance

While this system was phased out starting in Persona 3, Personas do not appear as cards after a battle but instead you collect Tarot Cards. How do you do this? Persona 2: Innocent Sin includes a negotiation system where the members of your party must interact with the demon in order to collect them. There are four different moods this interactions can produce – Happy, Eager, Angry and Scared. Happy demons are more likely to give you items, Eager results in the receiving of the cards, Scared and incapacitate the enemy for a period of time… and from my experience with Eternal Punishment, Angry is the most common mood which results in the demon getting a free turn. The interactions you have to choose must be derived from a (at times) vague list of demon personalities.

After collecting the cards, you can take them to Igor and trade them in for Persona at your current level. Of course, you are able to summon previously created Persona and “mutate” them to produce unique ones that might have better stats or skills then originally summoned ones. You can further improve these summoned Persona through skill and stat cards.

Persona 2: Innocent Sin will be released by ATLUS USA on the 20th of September 2011 on the Playstation Portable
