You will be forgiven if you are not familiar with this game title. Announced at the same time as Final Fantasy XIII, it is the third part of the Fabula Nova Crystallis series and boasts gameplay similar to Kingdom Hearts more then the normal Final Fantasy line of RPG games (another suitable comparison would be an improved gameplay system of Final Fantasy: Crystal Chronicles). Ever since it was originally revealed, news has been very limited with one or two mentions every year and in the case of this year, nothing shown since late-January.
Unfortunately the game seems to have been set back by the decision to release Final Fantasy XIII-2, a move that whilst no doubt being rewarding to fans of the original XIII game, it also led to disappointment to people like me who were awaiting this games release and felt XIII-2 could have been held off until at least then. With the announcement the game would not be appearing at this years Tokyo Game Show, it left questions as to if the game was being dropped or postponed even further, considering that this game was announced at E3 Expo 2006, and since then – both other parts of the series have either been released or near release, with the original having a sequel due out late this year.
Fortunately, the gaming website Just Push Start have uncovered some promising news. The game is now in 100% full development. Of course, there is little indication how much of the game has actually been completed already and with no tentative release dates as of yet, seems like we will have to sit tight just a little while longer. Whilst the original Final Fantasy XIII was a multiplatform game, this game is due out only on the Playstation 3 as an exclusive, and from what has been shown – boasts a more serious and modern storyline.
