Unlike other Square Enix franchises, I am not so much into the Dragon Quest series as the others – only having played the most recent one released on the Nintendo DS. However, Square Enix recently announced many things about Dragon Quest X, the next game in the series. First of all, this game will be out in 2012 for both Nintendo Wii and Nintendo Wii U consoles and surprisingly, is an online game. The disappointing thing at least for the Wii version is that most online games for the console have previously been rather limited or prone to issues such as lagging – so I am curious how it will turn out. The producer will be Yosuke Saito – who was responsible for the game Nier. The Wii U version is also expected to have enhanced graphics.
There is no word if this game will see a release outside of Japan, but given the franchises history there is a good chance we will be hearing about it soon.
