Earlier this year, Nippon Ichi Software in Japan released an Android Phone application for their much loved Disgaea gaming series – which from the looks of it, basically allowed you to create your party and navigate around a Item Worldesque world, defeating enemies. This was a game supported by Microtransctions for exclusive characters – such as I assume Laharl, Flonne et cetera. The thing was, due to the restrictions placed on actually downloading it – unless you knew how to navigate android download services and happened to have a Japanese Android Phone, it was impossible to download it (Believe me, I tried). However all that doesn’t matter now as at the same conference that NIS America revealed their new Vita and PS3 lineup today, they also unveiled their plans to dominate the Android phone market and release this game for it, under the title Disgaea: Netherworld Unbound.

It is set to be a free download and of course, supported by microtransactions. This is not a port of any prior Disgaea game, however from the looks of it the design is based off the original Disgaea game (As the female character holding the bow has sprite art only included in the first game). If it can just be downloaded from the normal Android Market or if you have to jump through hoops like the Japanese release has yet to be announced – but it seems like they will make it a simplified download like most android Applications.
