With Tales of Xillia due out in Japan on the 8th of September, they have been pushing little tidbits of information, announcements of DLC content they will have on the Playstation Network and of course, putting up more videos such as the two above. These two videos focus on two of the main characters – Leia and Alvin. As I am a bit too tired to translate at the moment, I would like to comment on my first impressions of the design quality. Most of the Tales games on non-portable consoles in the last decade or so have been more towards a cel-shaded anime style over some visually stunning graphics. Whilst the characters still retain their anime-design traits such as the eyes and costumes, the characters look more human and realistic-looking then any game previously. I also approve of the environment designs.
