With Gamescom 2011 currently underway, Namco Bandai have released on their upcoming title Dark Souls (Sequel to Demons Souls), the character classes you are able to choose. Generally they have a vast variety of different character roles which determine your starting stats and equipment – however if it is anything like Demons Souls you will not be locked in the role but equipping certain weaponary and armor will be difficult at the start. There are a total of 10 character classes which are as follows:
- Warrior: Fearless and dexterous weapons expert.
- Knight: Solid armor-clad character not easily toppled with High HP.
- Wanderer: Agile, scimitar-wielding character.
- Thief: Guilt-ridden character with a Master Key, inflicting critical hits.
- Bandit: Has high strength and wields a heavy battle axe.
- Hunter: Bow wielding hunter who can handle close‐range combat but is vulnerable to magic.
- Sorcerer: Educates dragons and casts soul Spells.
- Pyromancer: Casts fire spells and wields a hand axe.
- Cleric: Pilgrim who wields a mace and casts healing miracles.
- Deprived: Armed only with a club and a shield of old planks.
Also discussed in their recent press release are the Dynamic Player Interaction Systems and the Cooperative Play. The Player interaction system remains similar to that of the previous game, with the floor text returning as well as the dead player ghost and the ability to view other players playing the game in their own worlds.
The cooperative play remains mostly the same as well, however they have included the ability to summon NPC’s if you choose to play by yourself. Personally, I was never one for the coop play in the game (Besides watching other players die and the like) so I do hope that they will still cater to the players who decide to go solo.
After the jump, I have more screenshots for the game!
