[Sam Recommends] Jack’s Big Adventure: My Brothers Getting Immunized

jack [Sam Recommends] Jacks Big Adventure: My Brothers Getting Immunized

Whilst this is a bit off-topic for this site, I am also very passionate about keeping children healthy through vaccinations, and applaud every effort the government takes in ensuring that parents are informed that they should vaccinate their children without any of the bias and misinformation spread through anti-vaccination or so called “Pro-choice” groups. This is a book that is part of a new South Australian initiative titled “Big Help For Little Adventurers“, to encourage parents to have their kids receive their booster shots before the age of 4 years old. A package, including a storybook and brochure will be sent by Medicare Australia to the parents and caregivers of children once they hit the age of three and a half. I have had a quick look through this book and think it is very age appropriate and something that all parents should read to their children to reduce the kids fear of having their shots (After all, all kids hate needles in the beginning)

Unfortunately with certain groups going out of their way to spread misinformation about vaccinations, it is imperative that every parent becomes aware of the risks of not vaccinating and choose the only way for their children to both protect themselves as well as those who cannot have vaccinations due to other health problems and therefore must rely on herd immunity to themselves remain healthy.

I will be doing a more detailed post about this on The Chibi’s Study in the week and hopefully I will be able to get a physical copy of the book from somewhere to show it off in more detail. If you are not in South Australia but would like to read this book to your children, they have kindly posted up a PDF version of the file HERE. Even if you are older and do not have children with upcoming vaccinations, you must admit that this is very detailed and creative for a picture book, let alone one that is provided free. Thinking about it, it is most probably one of the most detailed picture books I have ever seen.
