[Sam Recommends] Cookie Monster Sings!?

I was never a big follower of Sesame Street as a kid, primarily because it was on much later over in Australia then school times would allow, but as well me and my brother were watchers of Play School which was more realistic to watch being aired in the afternoon rather then the morning exclusively. The most memorable character from the series however was the Cookie Monster, most famous for his strong addiction to cookies and his famous OM NOM NOM NOM! eating style. But I digress.

Youtube user cookiewaits recently released the above video, that has Cookie Monster lip-syncing to the song “God’s Away On Business” by Tom Waits using footage from the Sesame Street show. This would be any normal mashup if it were not for a few things….. that the lip syncing was close to perfect, and that Tom Waits voice is such a great match for the Cookie Monster that it makes it sound like he is actually singing the song. As well, considering that this song is a rather “dark” song (or something along those lines), it is quite enjoyable watching the Cookie Monster sing it like the happiest person in the world.

This doesn’t have anything to do with any news article and posted for readers enjoyment. However, if you have kids and are interested in an upcoming Sesame Street game for them, I have included a recent trailer for the game Sesame Street: Once Upon a Monster for the XBox360 (+Kinect) which is due out this October.
