Demons Souls was a very successful title for ATLUS, resulting in sales several times more then what they were expecting and causing an English fanbase like no one could have ever expected. However it is now time for Demons Souls to potentially hand over that title to another game….. Catherine. In a statement made to IGN, VP of Sales and Marketing at ATLUS, Tim Pivnicny stated that Catherine has had the largest shipment of any title in their companies history and even a week after sales, still continues to go strong. Whilst I will be interested to see sales numbers for both the PS3 and XBox360 version – perhaps this alongside the positive reception it has gained from a number of gaming media (Such as gaining the first S-Rating for a game on The Otaku’s Study) and the fact that the whole game takes place in a “TV Show” – we could see more puzzle games from the Persona Team and ATLUS.
