As strange as it may sound, I was bored this evening having just finished watching all 12 episodes of Dance in the Vampire Bund, so I decided to take a peek around the Madman Entertainment website to see if there were any goodies lying around to post on. Their 2010 Company Profile for 2010 (HERE) which was found on their Recruitment Page stood out to me. I have had the pleasure and at times… displeasure of reading many company and educational profiles, and it is nice to see a company going out of their way to entice readers by not making these profiles long and boring. Whilst I know facts have to be stated – even small things like this go a long way.
The graph design technique has proved successful in not only things such as this, but in other forms of delivering information. The Australian Bureau of Statistics recently opened a website called ABS Spotlight, in which Australian’s could submit basic information and receive a personalized graph depending on the information inputted, and it comes with a fun interactive session as well. Finally, the technique has been implemented for more fun health oriented initiatives such as the Bill and Melinda Gates “Reinvent the Toilet” program, aiming to improve hygiene and reduce disease in populations that do not necessarily have access to satisfactory sanitation methods.
