Whilst I sometimes find it hard to fulfill my usual Review Schedule for the weekend and shove things over into the next week, I have plans on reviewing an anime, a game and one of two visual novels. Basic information on these titles can be found after the jump!
Karin: Chibi Vampire
Madman Entertainment
Karin Maaka leads an ordinary life in spite of the fact that she is from a family of vampires. Unlike the rest of her family, she has no problem with bright lights, sleeps in a bed instead of a coffin, and loves to eat garlic. She is such an abnormal vampire that she doesn’t even suck blood – she makes it! Everything begins to unravel when she gets uncontrollable urges every time she gets near her classmate, Kenta Usui. Will she hold back the urge to purge or give in to her need to bleed?! Note – This will keep me up to date with all of Madman’s titles to make way for their releases this month. I have a review of The Tower of Druaga Complete Collection due out next week thanks to Siren Visual.
Zettai Hero Project
Nippon Ichi Software America
Crawl through randomly-generated dungeons to power up the weakest superhero in the world’s history (you) and defeat the final boss threatening the Earth: Darkdeath Evilman! Customize everything imaginable, from your stats to your appearance; from your secret base to your theme song! Z.H.P. will scratch all your RPG itches! Note – This title is not available from the NIS America store anymore but may be available in another store or can be downloaded from the Playstation Network store. As with my Prinny 2 review, reviewing because I just managed to track copies down.
Higurashi: When They Cry
MangaGamer
Welcome to the village of Hinamizawa, the 58th year of Shouwa, June. You will enjoy your stay in this village through the eyes of the protagonist of the story. Maebara Keiichi has only just moved to Hinamizawa. The village is recovering from its battle against the dam’s construction, and now its number of residents is increasing as it welcomes newcomers. As a newcomer, Keiichi has no friends in this town, and so he feels lonely. But his classmates won’t just let him hang. Soon, Keiichi finds himself enjoying a cheerful existence in their company. Note – This is ONE of two potential visual novels I might review this weekend. This is an all-ages game from MangaGamer and is the source material of one of the greatest mystery anime’s of all time.
A Drug That Makes You Dream
JAST USA
I am just an average student, living an average, colorless life. I study, I work my part-time job, I get through my day just like everyone else, trying not to stand out from the crowd. But suddenly, almost before I realize it, the winds of change have blown into my life. They come in the form of three girls, girls who have been around me for some time, but who I never noticed in this way before. They are most definitely not living a colorless life like everyone else in postmodern Japan. They seem to float above society, strangely unaffected by it. Instinctively I know I should avoid getting involved with them, and yet before I know it, my destiny is bound with theirs. Where will it all lead? Note – This is the other of the two potential visual novels I might review this weekend. This is an R18+ game, however as it was with Deus Machina Demonbane, the game cannot be judged on the ero scenes alone, but by the storyline.
