Whilst we wait for ‘The Borrower Arrietty’, Ghibli releases new trailer for next series ‘Kokurikozaka Kara’

With The Borrower Arrietty yet to be released worldwide, with Australia at least having a tentative release date of sometime in 2012, Studio Ghibli in Japan is pushing their latest title, Kokurikozaka Kara (コクリコ坂から) with a new title that can be viewed above. The source material for this series is the 1980′s manga series of the same name written by Tetsurō Sayama. The story follows Umi Komatsuzaki, a young high school girl living in Yokohama, yet suddenly needs to become more mature and adult-like when her father goes missing. It is hard to tell much from the trailer, however their choice of design seems more suited to a story of the 1980′s then a modern anime series, but seems to have a nice light-hearted pace to it which Ghibli seem to do well.

Whilst there are no acquisition announcements from any English companies, I think it is safe to assume that there will be an English release at some point from the normal companies sometime in 2012-2013.
