Weiss Schwarz Portable – The Anime/Game Lovers Portable TCG Game!

ws002 300x168 Weiss Schwarz Portable The Anime/Game Lovers Portable TCG Game!

Depending on which country you live in, you will either know Bushiroad quite well, or you may not be so familiar with them – and for those at the Sydney Supanova this year you might remember them for doing the presentation of the Cardfight!! Vanguard TCG. Anyway, one of their series is called Weiss Schwarz which features characters from various anime and game series. I am not so familiar with the rules of this game as their others, however I am sure a Google search will prove rewarding. – After the jump, more details and screenshots.

I have included a few screenshots for your enjoyment, however for those a bit more curious on the game, I hope you will let me take the time to outline both this genre and some features of this game. The development of this game actually surprised me… I know Bushiroad is one of the big TCG game companies in Japan however I havent actually seen a TCG game (At least over here) since the Pokemon Trading Card Game on Gameboy Colour (Which I loved). Considering the games they have lined up for source material, I actually think this game will go down well.

I don’t know much about the storyline but it is evident that the series takes place in a school, has well endowed characters and evidently they are obsessed with TCG’s…. (and there seem to be lots of fanservice). I was browsing the official website, and below are a list of a few titles you can expect to see cards from, totalling approximately 1,000 in total.

  • Nanoha
  • The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya
  • KEY Series – Kud Wafter and Angel Beats
  • The IDOLM@STER
  • Fate/Stay Night and others

Weiss Schwarz Portable (PSP) is due out on the 23rd of November 2011 in Japan. Currently no information is available on a possible English release, but due to potential licensing issues, I do have my doubts if it ever will be.
