As I announced a few days back, Namco Bandai Games was rumored to be announcing a PS3 version of the second game in their very successful idol sim franchise The Idolm@ster. Going on sale starting the 27th October 2011, the game-only set will include a copy of The Idolm@ster 2 (PS3) alongside a considerable portion of the DLC content already built into the disc. As a plus side for fans of the series outside of Japan, you will finally be able to play the game yourself, as the PS3 is not region locked… leaving only the slight language barrier between you and complete enjoyment of the game (The games menus seem easy enough to navigate with limited Japanese-language knowledge).
The Idolm@ster has previously been an XBox360 exclusive console game series, marking this the first time the series has come to the Playstation 3, and the second time coming to a Sony console (There was a PSP version of the game a year or two back). The game focuses on you being the manager of ten or so potential idols, and your mission to make them big names in the Japanese idol scene.
