Unlike the Dynasty Warriors series, I am not so familiar with the Samurai Warriors series, having only played the PS2 version of Samurai Warriors 2: Empires. I have always been a fan of the Empires series over the main series as it is more fun to take over China/Japan over and over again without the need to go through backstory (I like my control to be acquired without all the extras added onto it). Samurai Warriors 3: Empires recently had this trailer released for it, showcasing some of the new features in this game including:
- Seemingly more cutscenes then in a normal Empires game
- The ability to create a customised samurai, however how detailed and how many has yet to be fully shown – considering that there was an astronomical number of combinations and 100 character slots in Dynasty Warriors 6: Empires, hopefully something along those lines.
- The ability to build your own Japanese town.
- Two modes: The normal Empires Free Mode and Historical Mode – Objective-driven Gameplay more or less.
The game is due out on the 25th of August in Japan, no English distribution has been announced.
