AVCon 2011 – Anime Acquisition Announcements

AVConAnnouncements AVCon 2011 Anime Acquisition Announcements

I must say, unlike many of the other announcements made by both companies over the previous weeks and months, I do sort of feel…. disappointed in what they have announced this time around, thus I do not think it is necessary to do the normal descriptions as between both companies there were…. two series, with only one being a new acquisition. First of all, Siren Visual announced that they will also be releasing a Blu-ray edition of Angel Beats, which was obvious as they have hinted to it prior and it is a series that I feel can only be justified with the best possible quality release.

Madman on the other hand announced their plans to release Bubblegum Crisis Tokyo 2040 in 2012. I suppose fans of the series will know what this is, but I am not a follower of it. Supposedly it is a 26-episode series which is based off the Bubblegum Crisis OAV which was initially released in Japan in 1987, and released in Australia during 2001.
