As you may recall, I yesterday complemented the packaging design of Katanagatari which I thought was a really nice special edition for a series, despite possibly being a tad pricier on most anime series. Today, thanks to NIS America, I have received their Premium Release of Arakawa: Under the Bridge.
As with Katanagatari, I am saving my watching of these series for the weekend. but it hasnt stopped me diving in to the compendium of information which is the art book. Personally, I thought the art book of this volume is both better and not-as-good as the one provided by Katanagatari as the one provided in this collection, was an encyclopedia of characters, interviews and other information whilst being less focused on the art work.
This set also includes both Blu-ray and DVD copies of all 13 episodes in the first season, however it is once again disappointing that no blu-ray player I have will play the Blu-ray discs. The hard cover case is also a very nice addition, with more of a blue/pink motif and honestly, I do like how effectively they store both DVD cases and the artbook.
My review for both of these series should be out this coming weekend.
