I will admit, I haven’t followed TCG Games since the days when Pokemon Trading Cards were in fashion, and anyone who was anyone had a pile of them. However, with some interesting anime based TCG Games coming out in the Japanese market, one group that has caught my attention is the card games by Bushiroad, which consist of series such as Weiβ Schwarz and ChaosTCG which are based off popular anime series such as the Persona series, Disgaea, Strike Witches and so forth, as well as a series known as ALICE×CROSS which is targetted at the female demographic and is based off series more female-friendly.
However, you have heard of an anime series known as Cardfight!! Vanguard. Bushiroad publishes a card series based off the anime, which has proved extremely popular in Japan and is the product of a collaboration between the CEO of Bushiroad, Mr Takaaki Kidani, Akira Ito (Yu-gi-Oh! R) and Satoshi Nakamura (Duel Masters). Supanova gives the following explanation for the gameplay:
In Cardfight!! Vanguard, you take control of a leading card known as the Vanguard, and call upon Rear Guards to aid in the card battle. You’ll see all sorts of cards with original artwork from numerous famous japanese artists. The card game features diverse characters and monsters, from fearsome dragons, brave paladins, cute mermaids and much more.
So what is so special about this coming to Supanova? Well, Supanova has just announced that their Sydney event will have in attendance, the CEO of Bushiroad, Takaaki Kidani, and he shall be both meeting and greeting people who are interested in the series, and may also be tutoring those who take part in the FREE training sessions for the game. Anyway, who knows, if this goes well, we might see a wider distribution network in Australia of their many TCG series!
