I shall keep this brief. I initially watched both Higurashi and Umineko no Naku Koro ni (Season One of Higurashi over here titled When they Cry) for the sole purpose of the murderous and killer loli aspect of the series alongside the mystery component of it. To see Higurashi’s OVA, where they could be doing one of the manga or game exclusive arcs (There was ACTUALLY a true end to the game series guys…), and instead they are doing a moe and loli fanservice series is sort of annoying…. especially considering the word Kira is in the title….
But who knows, the fanservice might just be in the first episode out of the four…. I assume they can’t have four fanserice episodes without one torn out throat, burned body or gas explosion? Right? I will be interested to see what they intend to do for the four episode OVA series starting with Part 1 on the 21st of July 2011.
Your thoughts? Is it appropriate to what I assume would be an end to a long running series by having fan-service episodes? Or, do you believe that there will be some sort of mystery involved in the series, and if so, what arcs would you like to see animated out of the manga or game exclusive ones?
