Some News………. Record of Agarest War and Catherine

Part 1: Agarest

Two good pieces of news tonight……

img1 Some News.......... Record of Agarest War and Catherine

First up, Ghostlight, who were the ones that released Record of Agarest War to SCEE regions (Including Australia) have just announced they have gotten the rights to distribute Agarest Senki Zero Soul, the sequel to the first game. This is said to be greatly improved on the first game (Which I have yet to finish), and yes, the same sort of suggestive artwork seems to be present in this game as well. After the jump is a statement from Ghostlight.

Here is the statement:

Great news! As the headline above reveals Ghostlight has finally managed to sign the successor to the awesome JRPG innuendo-fest that is Agarest: Generations of War on PS3!

That’s right, you heard it here first: Agarest Senki Zero is coming to the SCEE territories, courtesy of Ghostlight.

This time we’re working even more closely in conjunction with Idea Factory to ensure we deliver the best possible game to you, the fans.

Currently, plans regarding a release date and EU pricing are not finalised (heck, we’ve barely even started), but rest assured that we’ll be looking to provide you with the ultimate possible version of Agarest SZ to whet your appetites for more vaguely inappropriate Soul Breeding and more double entendres than you can shake a floppy stick at (woops, did it again!).

We’re also planning to bring out an oh-so special edition of the game alongside the regular version, so stay tuned for more information on that (and its saucy contents) as and when we have it.

Oh and YES, this time we will be supporting Trophies. icon wink Some News.......... Record of Agarest War and Catherine

I will without a doubt be getting this game, however I do hope that distribution in Australia is a little bit better than the previous title as the only copy I have ever found was in a GameTraders store, and that was the copy I bought. However, judging from the looks of things, the game will maintain its interesting battle system, and hopefully making the interface a bit more appealing then being the basis for the Cross Edge interface (The one thing I noticed when playing Agarest War was that the out of battle system was almost exactly the same as Cross Edge).

and yes…. for those new to the series, the press release was correct about the innuendo-fest part.

Part 2: Catherine

Recently released was a prologue (Possibly opening) cinematic for their upcoming new IP Catherine. This game for those who don’t know, is being produced by the Persona team focused towards a more adult audience, as is evident from previous trailers. As well, it seems to be a more platforming game then an RPG like the Persona titles, overall, whilst I am not as excited about this as I would say, Persona 5, it is still something I am willing to check out.
