Persona 2: Innocent Sin PSP – Opening

New Opening Theme is titled “unbreakable tie” and sung by Lotus Juice and Asami Izawa – Rather nice song!

For my final post this evening, I would like to make note of something I am most excited about, the announcement of Persona 2: Innocent Sin Portable on the PlayStation Portable console. This is going the same route as Persona PSP did by taking the original PS1 games, remaking them to be more suitable for the PSP and the quality that is expected of the console, and then adding new music, translations et cetera. However, if this does make it to english shores, this would be the first time that Innocent Sin has been distributed in English. Whilst Persona 2: Eternal Punishment (Which was basically Persona 2b) was released fine, there were a few supposed issues with the content of Innocent Sin which meant it would not be distributed (These issues could be classed as minor spoilers so I won’t be posting them here).

The storyline basically goes that an individual known by the name JOKER has been causing a lot of murderous incidents around Sumaru City and is summoned by someone dialing their own phone number into their mobile phone. One day, Tatsuya and his friends realize that the city has been cursed, and that any rumour that is started, can come true no matter how impossible it is. Therefore this allows for quite a unique persona experience unlike any of the other series.

Personally, I actually have a copy of the PS1 version of Persona 2: IS with the fan translations on it (This game actually merited a fan translation of the games entirety) and honestly, I enjoyed it significantly more than Persona 1, however it was good to see the cross-overs, just like Persona 3 did with the characters of this game. I might post up a review of the PS1 version when I get some time, since it is a worthwhile play. After the jump, I have some images!

Famitsu managed to get a hold of some screenshots, which can be found below this post. Credits for the images go to Atlus and Famitsu.

Either way, as soon as this game is available for pre-order, I will without a doubt be putting a pre-order on this game! Now there is just one last question…. will Eternal Punishment be getting a PSP remake or will the roles be reversed this time?
