Recently announced is the next game in the Yakuza series, which would make it the 7th in the series overall after four console games and two spinoffs. This is supposed to be a game following from Yakuza 4 however it has taken a different route over the other games, they have decided to use zombies as enemies and the destruction of the main town known as Kamurocho. The trailer shows that Haruka, Kazuma Kiryu’s adopted daughter has been kidnapped by a mysterious man whilst the entire town is being overrun by a zombie outbreak. So far there are four main characters that seem to be either playable or have a main role in the story which include Kiryu and Goro Majima and it is their role apparently to both rescue Haruka and save the town from falling.
Anyway, different turn of events and it will be interesting to see how it goes, what if any of the prior games minigames will be available (Zombie Karaoke anyone?) and if it will be released in English like Yakuza 1-3 have been, with 4 coming out next year.
I also managed to purchase the first two Yakuza games yesterday, and they are proving to be a very interesting and enjoyable playthrough.
