This is my attempt to try something anime related on this blog, after all I am still hosted on animeblogger.net. So I got to thinking, what was a nice simple thing to do before I went to sleep tonight… I thought of doing a normal generic TOP OPENING/ENDING THEMES post however that seems to be overdone a bit…. so I thought of doing something a bit unique and instead decided to do the top “Fun” opening and ending themes of animes. So what does a theme have to do to get into this category? Simply, it has to be hyperactive, fast paced music and cheerful! Not much to it really….
In no particular order… the countdown shall begin!
Azumanga Daioh
Soramimi Cake – Oranges & Lemons
Considering how long ago the anime was made, the quality of the opening is still really good and definately much more interesting to watch then most of the openings nowadays. The overall cheerful tone of the song, as well as the cute and comedic animations make it a must add to the list.
Anyamaru Tantei Kiruminzuu
Poo – Neko Jump
There have been two versions of this song released, the thai version which is in the video and a Japanese adaptation which whilst being good, is no where as good as this version. Despite the song giving you a chuckle the first time you see it due to the english spelling of the title, it is overall a really fun opening, especially for its target group, which is younger children. Colour being flown around everywhere alongside an upbeat tune gives this the title of a “Fun Opening”
Chokotto Sister
Neko-Nyan Dance – Harenchi Punch!
Could not find a video of this opening, but anyway, this is a very cheerful song that is accompanied by some cheerful and not-so cheerful animation which the song matches perfectly. What I did find interesting through, was that the anime actually incorperated the song into the series in multiple episodes as a popular childrens song.
Pani Poni Dash
All 5 Openings/Endings – Vocal Cast
The video above is of only one of the opening/ending themes. Definately a bunch of random, but highly fun videos to watch in terms of their animation and song choices.
Strawberry Marshmallow
Ichigo Complete – Vocal Cast
Finally, we have the opening of Ichigo Mashimaro (Strawberry Marshmallow) TV. The series has the overall cuteness charm and does have a pretty upbeat theme to it. The two OVA opening themes if I remember rightly, has a bit more comedic violence towards Miu, but I think this stands out as the best of the three.
Edit: Bit more awake now, realized that I missed a few good “fun” themes, but you get the general idea, these are just a few of the many entertaining themes out there!
