Afternoon All,
To those who own a Fat PS3 (Ones before the PS3 Slim), if you log onto the PS3 network you are more than likely going to find that you will not be able to connect to the internet at all. As well, any games that have trophies may cause your trophies to temporarily disappear off your record and you wont be able to play games with them. I dont believe there would be any problems with non-trophy games however.
It is unknown what the official reason is however there are rumours that it could have something to do with the factor of a leap year even if it isnt one this year. The date on all consoles would have changed to the end of 1999, years before the console was even released, so hopefully it is a simple solution.
I personally advise people to avoid changing themes (Most of them show up corrupt) and to not waste your time playing games with trophies as you will not be able to access them and will be prompted to restart your console.
