Bioshock Exploded my Computer T_T

Hello All,

Just want to tell you all that I will not be blogging for awhile… why? Bioshock exploded my computer….

I was in the middle of killing a Big Daddy when suddenly a bang which came from my computer was heard and the next thing I know… power was cut, screen was blank, a foul odour was smelt and worst of all… my just sitting there… stunned. Hoping to dear goodness my HDD’s wernt destroyed…

So yes, Blogging will be down for an indefinate amount of time. I suppose the power supply has been destoryed but if not… I will do my best to salvage my HDD’s and get back to blogging ASAP.

So yes, my advice for today…

“Bioshock might rapture your computer”

For that reason, I give Bioshock a 0/5 (E), since while its greatness would give it at least a 4.5, I dont like anything that is so good that it explodes the computer!!!!!!!!!!!

The importance of a good powersupply should never be underestimated….

i have bought elchepo 500-600W powersupply’s and well they almost always die after some time (probably since my pc is on all the time).

but last pc i got a antec PSU. and its so far going great

the extra $ is always worth it.

Yea, I hope it is just the powersupply… I cannot really afford to lose any files off my 4 HDD’s…

my hdd’s were fine after the power box failed only my mobo and cpu died..so be positive

Make sure you test them on another pc putting a new psu probably wont work on the blown up pc because the power surge could have taken out the motherboard and cpu. probably even the ram or video card.

You might want to seriously consider making at least 2 of those 4 HDD’s external. By going with external storage if your system goes awry, it becomes incredibly easier salvage any data. Not to mention if you don’t need immediate access to your data you turn off/unplug the external and make thing easier on the PSU. 1TB externals are getting cheaper all the time.

Yea, any hope it is just the powersupply. The computer is a few years old and it is overused… a bit, so I guess it was only a matter of time… I would love to test them on another PC unfortunately, my mother is kind of holding my computer hostage from me :p, since I do have a habit of tinkering! =(

Yea, I did buy an external hard drive for this purpose when all my files magically disappeared and went corrupt… however that became a junk drive after awhile :p. I plan on buying a 1TB one this week through, so then I will never have to really use any other drive.

Now, the most unfortunate thing is that I have several presentations to do next week and they are all on the computer >.< Planning on trying to turn it back on, as it didn’t seem as extreme as other stories I have read about.

if you external hdd is 3.5″ just chck you hdds into that and get the files you need.

Just turning it on wont help psu is def gone throw it away…

you should you your mum the important of your files and that you need it. cause putting a hdd in another pc is dead simple. (that is if you cant put it in the external drive)
