Review: I had just finished watching the third DVD of Elfen Lied when I decided to sit down and watch this, expecting something like the previous few episodes, however, I wasn’t expecting anything like this when I was watching. It was definately made better than the rest of the episodes and it really showed how much this show can offer, althrough I wasn’t expecting it to be as full on as this.
Graphics: As I have said in multiple episodes, the graphics are absolutely brilliant which shows how much effort they have put into making this look like a masterpiece. For example, in this image, when the man was knocked across a table, everything moved flawlessly like it would have in real life. As well as this, many of the random characters in this episode still retained a unique look and feel.
Sound: Both sound effects and music were the same as usual. The voice acting was very high quality. A good example of this is with the flashback with the children who were abducted. With both Shinkurou and Ginko, the voice acting both showed them that it was them at that age and also fit in with the traumatic situation which they were facing. Alongside the graphics, all the extra characters hold a unique sound which improves their character.
Characters: A large quantity of character development. If I get around to writing a summary, it will be explained in more detail, but in the end, a large amount of it was dedicated to the past of Shinkurou and why he had decided to go into the business of solving problems that people have, and explained what happened in his past and how he ended up meeting people like Benika and Yayoi. More of this seems to be displayed in next weeks episode.
Storyline: Much was displayed in the storyline. I thought it was very well done and has changed my views on what makes a good anime, since most of the shows I have watched focus on at least a slight bit of comedy. Since I am actually planning on writing a summary this week, I will leave it at this until tomorrow when I will hopefully write one.
Overall: 19.5/20 (A)
Graphics: 5/5
Sound: 4.5/5
Characters: 5/5
Storyline: 5/5
