OP Theme: Love Jump by Minami Kuribayashi [Youtube] – Wow is all I can say to this. This theme does not really match the genre of the series but is by far one of the more interesting I have seen yet. The song was also rather nice to listen to and was much more cheerful sounding then I had expected.

ED Theme: Crossing Day by Ryoko Shintani [Youtube] – Nothing really special but the artwork is quite nice.

Review: I originally decided to watch something other then a fun upbeat anime this season and my eyes gazed upon Kure-nai which sounded a fair bit serious. However, I was a bit worried once seeing the Opening Theme but the series came across as what I expected, an anime that had very little comedy and taking a more serious stance to it.

Graphics: The graphics were very well done. First of all, the character designs were very well done, with the characters all looking rather different and in the case of some of the characters, the kimonos were some of the most well designed clothes I have ever seen in an anime. [4.5/5]

Music: To be honest, during the show the music didn’t really stand out to me and I am pretty sure there were long scenes without any music to it. Most of the evident music was very soft and mostly classical music which I am not a big fan of. However, it did suit the theme to an extent. [2.5/5]

Characters: There is not much I can comment on about the characters at this time. However, from what is shown, the series has a vast array of characters which range from the protective high school student to the snobbish child to a rude old man. The personalities are vast and different at first look but further episodes will be needed to further determine this. [3.5/5]

Storyline: The storyline basically goes that a young girl named Murasaki hires a bodyguard named Shintaro and this story basically follows him and his time looking after her. The storyline sounds common however I don’t usually watch shows like this so it is a first for me. Can’t really comment much on it until the series progresses a bit more however. [4/5]

Overall Score: [14.5/20] B

Chance of Blogging: Depending on how well the rest of the season goes, this series stands out to me a fair bit. I will keep blogging this for a few more episodes hopefully and see how long I keep watching it for.
