OP Theme: Yes! Baka Ranger! by Asuna, Makie, Yue, Kaede, Ku [Youtube] – This shocked me at first since I was expecting another version of the normal opening theme but this was a different but good surprise. Bit overdone in my opinion but it was very hilarious, especially since they started beating some weird characters who will hopefully play some part in future episodes of this series.
ED Theme: “I will have to get back to you with the name of this song xP” by Asuna, Makie, Ku, Kaede, Yue - This was also a shock since it is uncommon for a show to have both unique OP’s and ED’s for one episode but with this episode, anything is possible I guess. However, songs in the style like this do not really appeal to me, and thus causing me to not enjoy many ED themes. The video on it however was rather well planned, even if it wasn’t as “Eventful” as the OP.
Summary:Since this episode was put in for laughs, I will be posting a point form summary this week.
- This episode starts with all the Baka Rangers finding out that if they all do badly on the next exam, they could possibly cause Negi some trouble (I forgot what it was for… but I believe that he would be fired)
- The Baka Rangers are all assembled in the classroom doing their group poses for some random reason, most probably to take time off their already failed studying habits.
- They attempt studying again however they still cannot keep concentration and they each do their personal poses again. Along with this, they do other things completely unrelated to study
- It is now dinner time and a dinner trolley containing bowls and soup has magically appeared in the back of the classroom. This takes more time out of their studying timetable.
- That night, instead of studying, they decide to go and speak to Negi and since they cannot open the door to the dorm room, Kaede picks the lock to the room when Asuna realizes she could have saved them a lot of strife by opening the door with the key.
- When they get into the room, they make a move to the divider into Negi’s room and when Yue gasps, the other four try to hide with Kaede completely disappearing and thus being the only one who wouldn’t be found as the others hid behind other, much smaller objects.
- They get a hold of Negi’s diary and they read his notes on them and how he believes that their studies will get them through the exams okay.
- Later on in the week after many long hours studying, the exams start and the five of them are confident in themselves. However, things are bad for Negi in the deans office.
- Before anything bad can happen to Negi, the Baka Rangers appear in the room with their introduction poses. The dean thinks they are being funny however they start chucking around one of Makie’s ball, everyone calling out anothers colour until it reaches Asuna where it now has some lingerie with the characters しずな Shizuna on it which when she throws it out the window, causes him to jump out after it, heading towards the ground while Negi stands there shocked.
Summary: This episode was more another comedic one which serves no purpose in the story of this series however it was different from the normal episodes which made a nice change to it. There was no crying girl in this episode which made it different as it didn’t focus around the sorrows of one of the girls in the class. I still feel that this would have been better either earlier on in the series or if they did what Negima!? did, add it into the final few episodes when the storyline is complete. Anyway, no more comments on this episode.
