Summary: This episode begins with Takano in her office talking to her currently unknown sponsor about her progress while glimpsing at this oddly shaped object. She choses to attempt to call Tomitake however he does not answer his phone. While Takano is busy doing this, Irie is going behind her back and still talking with Akasaka about their plans. While the last touches are being added to the festival, Irie ends up running into Takano and now that he knows about her secret, can only nod in acknowledgment out of fear. However, she asks him in a serious tone if he has seen Tomitake which he declines.

Back with the group, still in hiding, Ooishi checks in on them and sees how their progress is going. Everyone is optimistic about their efforts and they believe that they are going to break fate. Riak is especially happy about this and believes that for once, they do have a great chance and that she has pulled all the right moves.

Takano is in her room when she recieves a phone call from the Yamainu leader and she hears the false news that Rika had just died from the tiny illness she had. When she gets dressed and arrives at the headquarters of the organization, she hears the news that Rika died days ago and it was just announced. Takano cannot believe this, especially since everyone is still normal and the rest of the villagers haven’t been corrupted by the syndrome yet. No one can do anything about this and she recieves something she is dreading, a call from her sponsor and recieves bad news from her.

Ooishi is aware of an inside mole who is working for the Yamainu. This is an older man named Otaka and Ooishi is going to put a stop to him. Back with Takano, she now realizes that her work is a complete and utter failure. The leader of the Yamainu thinks that he may have been fed false information and start going against the village regardless. In his hotel room, Tomitake continues getting warnings from his contacts while constantly gathering information (For a photographer, he sure has alot of contacts). While this is going on, the Yamainu force entry into a hotel room, but it is in a different location, the one that they believe Tomitake to be in. A full scale attack is ordered against him by them.

Ooishi finally gets his moment to shine as him and his team manage to corner Otaka in the station and he makes an attempt to escape, however, Ooishi stops this. Ooishi not only has the rest of the police force, but most likely more dangerous, Akane and Saburou Sonozaki, Mion & Shions parents. With their arrival, Otaka is scared. Back in the medical clinic, Takano is interrogating Irie about her death and he just says that is life and things like that unfortunately does happen which annoys Takano. Takano calls her sponser who taunts her saying that both her and the doctors lifework is going to waste and that it was all for nothing. After all this, she decides that she will hold both Tomitake and Irie hostage.

After the credits, the Yamainu have caught up with Tomitake and when he first hears them enter the building, he jumps out of the window and lands unharmed on the now broken car. He thinks he has gotten away when the Yamainu surrounds him, so he decides to go down fighting and leaps at the group, trying to take them all on. The episode ends here.

Review: What a rather interesting episode, it did offer alot of information about the plans of the group, but I do not think that it was as informative as the last episode in my opinion. Since I haven’t read any of the visual novels in the series (Althrough I plan to once I finish this), it will be interesting to see how it ends as it could either end in a bad way and lead to a final OVA or something or it could just be the end. How successful will their quest to defeat fate be?, and how many people will lose their lives as an expense for Rika?, I am sure will will find out soon as there are only 3 more episodes left!
